Terms of Use
Effective October 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and DFW SAP Education ("we," "us") for use of this website and our courses. By creating an account or buying a course, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. What our courses are, and what they are not
- Education, not treatment. Our courses give general education about alcohol, drugs, safety, and professional practice. They are not counseling, therapy, treatment, or medical or legal advice, and taking one does not create a counselor–client relationship. For decisions about your own health, treatment, or legal situation, talk to your SAP, a doctor, a treatment provider, or a lawyer.
- Your SAP decides. For DOT return-to-duty, your Substance Abuse Professional decides what education you need and whether a course meets it. The U.S. Department of Transportation does not approve or certify SAP education courses, and we make no claim that it does. Before you buy, make sure your SAP has told you which course and how many hours to take. Completing a course does not guarantee that you will be cleared to return to duty.
- Continuing education. Each licensing board and certification body decides which hours it accepts. The course page describes which requirements a course is designed to meet. You are responsible for confirming that a course counts for your license and for keeping your certificates.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give us true, complete information, including your legal name, your SAP's correct contact details, and (for professional courses) your correct license information. Your certificate is only as accurate as what you enter.
- An account belongs to one person. Keep your password private and don't let anyone else use your account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
3. Doing the work honestly
A certificate says that you did the course. You agree to:
- do all lessons, quizzes, exams, reflections, and assignments yourself, without anyone else taking them for you;
- not get around the lesson time requirements (for example, with scripts or tools that fake activity);
- write your own answers and assignments, and not copy them from others or have them written for you;
- not share exam questions or answers.
Each lesson requires a minimum amount of active time, measured while the lesson is open and visible on your screen. Lessons, modules, and exams unlock in order. If we find dishonest completion, we may refuse or revoke the certificate, close the account without a refund, and tell anyone who checks the certificate that it is no longer valid.
4. Certificates
- When you meet all of a course's requirements, we issue a certificate. For driver courses, we email it to you and to the SAP you named. For professional courses, we email it to you.
- Each certificate has a code that anyone can check on our verification page.
- We may revoke a certificate that was issued by mistake, earned dishonestly, or paid for with a payment that was later refunded or reversed. A revoked certificate shows as not valid on the verification page.
5. Prices, payment, and refunds
- Prices are shown in U.S. dollars on each course page. Payment is due before the course starts and is processed by Stripe. Stripe's terms apply to the payment.
- Refunds: you can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as no certificate has been issued for that course. Email [email protected] from your account's email address. Once a certificate has been issued, the course is complete and the payment is not refundable. A refund ends your access to the course and revokes any certificate.
- If you bought the wrong course (for example, your SAP assigned a different number of hours), contact us before you start it and we will switch you to the right one, charging or refunding the difference.
- If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, we may suspend the course and revoke the certificate while the dispute is open.
6. Access and time limits
- Your course stays available while you work through it, and you can come back to your certificate afterward.
- Some courses must be completed within a set time. For example, the Texas LPC supervisor training must be finished within 90 days of enrolling, as the licensing rule requires. The course page shows any time limit.
- We update courses when rules or research change. Your certificate records the course version you completed.
7. Our content
The course content, design, and certificates belong to DFW SAP Education or are used with permission. Some material comes from U.S. government publications, which are in the public domain and cited in the lessons. You may use the course for your own education and print or save pages for your personal records. You may not copy, sell, share, or republish the course, its quizzes, or its exams, or give others access to your account.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use the site to break the law. Don't try to get into accounts or areas you're not authorized to use. Don't interfere with how the site works or scrape its content. Don't impersonate someone else, and don't send the instructor anything abusive or unlawful.
9. Ending your access
You can close your account at any time by emailing us; see the Privacy Policy for what we keep. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Sections 3, 4, 7, and 9–13 continue to apply after your account closes.
10. Disclaimers
We work to keep course content accurate and current, with citations to official sources. Rules change, though, and the course is general information, not advice for your situation. Except for the commitments stated in these terms, the site and courses are provided "as is," and to the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the site will always be available or error-free, or that any SAP, employer, board, or agency will accept a course.
11. Limit on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost wages, lost employment, or lost profits, arising from your use of the site or courses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the course the claim relates to. Some laws don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any lawsuit about these terms or the site must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you and we consent to those courts. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
13. Other terms
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the site. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new effective date. Changes apply to purchases made after that date.
